Another adventure for the Jazzinvaders! This time a presentation at the Jazzkomm in Berlin. Although two members of the original Jazzinvaders couldn’t be there we managed to make a mark! Thanks to Milan Bongers on altosax and Rodolfo Neves on trumpet. The club Frannz in east Berlin was filled with movers and shakers of the musicbizz in Germany and some more international. The double bill with the other Dutch Nu-Jazz band State of Monc left a good impression of what we can bring to the floor and rumours are that there will be a tour in Germany in the near future. What can be confirmed is the fact that our new album will be released in Germany on November 12th on Social Beats / Unique Records.
3 – 2010
Following their successful album releases ‘Up ‘n Out’ (2006) and ´Blow!´ (2008) which received rave reviews from DJs, press and audiences all over the world, the Jazzinvaders are now ready for their next ride. ‘3’ features some extraordinary guest appearances. The Dutch singer Brian Zalmijn sings on a couple of songs and the well respected Dutch guitar player Anton Goudsmith (of the New Cool Collective) contributes on two tracks. Continue reading
What’s Nu?
An album by the Dutch Nu-Jazz Movement jam packed with the newest tracks by four Dutch NU-Jazz bands. The Jazzinvaders are in de midst of recording their third album of which the two tracks “Reverse” and “Make it Work” give an indication of the new Jazzinvaders sound. Next to vocalist Linda Bloemhard you will hear the smooth and soulful voice of Brian Zalmijn. We invite you to check out the tracks on the Jazzinvaders Myspace player to then ,of course, buy the album on Itunes!!!
New line-up and 3rd album coming up
The Jazzinvaders started recording their 3rd album. This time, the focus will be more on vocal jazztunes, hence a leading role for singer Linda Bloemhard. But that’s not all, also the instrumentation will be a bit different: they’ve welcomed the sound of the electric bass and electric pianos. It is all in progress, but it will definitely get The Jazzinvaders to the next level. Within this process of movement the line-up of the Jazzinvaders has also undergone a change. The wonderful pianist Erwin Hoorweg and equally brilliant sax player Tom Beek have decided to spend more time on their own projects. In their place, The Jazzinvaders have found some excellent new bandmembers to complete the new album and to perform on stage like Berthil Bustra on keys and special request tenorsaxophonist Guido Nijs!
Jellyjazz Review
This is the second album from this great Dutch group and on the ever-consistent label ‘Social Beats’ (also Dutch), who, currently, can do no wrong. Let’s make no bones about it, this album is aimed straight at the dancefloor and hit’s the bullseye. Dj’s with no patience will get frustrated because there are so many tracks one could play (Day By Day; Perugia; Max Roach; Broad Minds and the funky ‘What The Bleep’) but it’s also varied enough, tempo and style-wise, to suit the home-listener too. As you’d expect from the Dutch – with their great jazz heritage, the musicianship is outstanding, but there must be a special mention of the singer Linda Bloemhard, who shines throughout the album. – 8 out of 10
